What: An online marketplace for Latin American products

How: Founders and husband-and-wife team Sharon Singer and James Stephenson realized say they realized there was no comprehensive online store selling clothing, accessories and home goods from Latin American companies for customers from around the world. So, they set out to build one.
“My husband has a lot of IT experience, as he worked for Yahoo! in the Internet division, and I have another retail company, called Annette International,” says Singer. These backgrounds enabled them to quickly get Flechada off the ground; the site now partners with 60 different companies and brands, and launches a new partnership every week.
Quote from the owner: “We chose the name Flechada, because we wanted to have a Spanish name that represents the site. The name means ‘lovestruck,’ because we believe customers will fall in love with the different products and stories behind the items.”
