Small Business Spotlight: Peggy Li Creations
Who: Peggy Li, @plcpeggy
What: Handmade jewelry
When: 2001
Where: San Francisco
How: Peggy Li was making jewelry for herself before deciding to turn the hobby into a business.
“I was making pieces for myself, and people would always ask me about where I got my jewelry,” Li said.
Li incorporates semi-precious stones to create her jewelry, while her personalized pieces are popular among customers. For some orders, she hand-stamps initials. Li, who worked for Electronic Arts (EA) prior to making her business a full-time effort this year, said online sales have “definitely grown, ” even though the recession was a tough time for business.
Quote from the owner: “My jewelry is unique in its simplicity. It’s wearable and lasts a long time in your jewelry box.”
