Small Business Spotlight: Shi Shi Putter
Who: Elizabeth Noblitt, @ShiShiPutter
What: Golf apparel for women
When: 2009
Where: Seattle
How: After taking up golfing again while dating her husband, Elizabeth Noblitt had trouble finding the right clothes for the golf course. She first started a blog on the topic of female golf attire. Now Shi Shi Putter includes an online shop.
“The clothes we sell are owned by small designers, and I choose to sell those companies’ clothes. And most are made in the U.S.,” Noblitt said.
A black dress for sale on Shi Shi Putter’s website is a popular item, Noblitt said, adding that it can be worn all summer.
Quote from the owner: “Our clothes are a little more sophisticated. You can still wear them to work or lunch and not have to apologize for wearing golf clothes.”
