Small Business Spotlight: Jacob Bromwell

Who: Sean Bandawat, 25, @jacobbromwell

What: Made in America kitchenware

When: The business is 190 years old, but Bandawat took over two years ago

Where: Tempe, Ariz.

How: After graduating from USC’s business program in 2010, Bandawat, along with a classmate, sought to acquire a business. The company was facing financial difficulties, he said, and the price was right.

Today he employs seven workers, along with contracted laborers.

“We are just focusing on the tried and true nostalgic products sold over the years,” he said. “When we came into the business there were over 300 products, but we have cut back to 50 different products.”

Quote from business owner: “We differentiate by being made in the U.S.A.,” Bandawat said. “We are the 34th oldest company in America, and I have always been passionate about products being made here.”
